San Francisco airport welcomes first therapy pig

- San Francisco International (SFO) is one of several airports around the country that has therapy dogs walking through terminals with handlers to greet passengers and help reduce the stress of traveling.

But now, SFO has introduced its first non-dog member to its Wag Brigade: a pig named LiLou.

LiLou, who has her own Instagram page, is the first pig to be certified in the Animal Assisted Therapy Program at the San Francisco SPCA, according to local media.

According to the SFSCPA, "At a minimum, AAT pets must be solicitous and fully comfortable with handling. In other words, pets must be interested in and eager to approach people and accept handling, regardless of the person’s age, gender, race, size, mobility equipment usage, and apparel."

LiLou is expected to be at the airport once a month.
