COLLEGE PARK, Ga. - College Park Police are looking for an armed robber after investigators said he terrorized employees at a fast food restaurant.
Investigators said it happened last Sunday night at around 9 p.m. at the Church’s Chicken on Old National Highway.
Investigator Helio Garcia with the College Park Police Department said in the surveillance video you can see the crook enter the fast food restaurant and order food, but then a few minutes later jumps the counter with a gun in his hand.
“Put the gun towards two of the cooks and had them lay down on the ground,” said Investigator Helio Garcia.
Police said five employees were inside of the restaurant when it happened. One of the employees, who did not want to be identified, said she hid as the crook made his way to the kitchen area.
“He walked passed me twice without seeing me and then he seen me and kind of pushed me on the floor,” said the employee.
“He spotted her in the corner,” said Investigator Garcia. “That’s when he basically grabbed her and threw her down to the ground as well, telling her not to move that he would shoot anybody that would move.”
Police said the robber demanded the manager take the cash out of the register and safe. Investigators said a total of $7,800 was taken.
Investigator Garcia said this man is armed and dangerous and they want him off the streets.
“We feel he is going to target other businesses and he is just going to wait until the right time,” said Investigator Garcia.
Employees are grateful no one was hurt or killed.
“I just wanted everybody to make it out safe, he could have everything,” said the employee. “I just wanted all of us to come out unharmed.”
