ATLANTA - In response to the damage done by Hurricane Mathew, FOX 5 has activated Careforce, a community partnership with Publix and the American Red Cross that helps bring emergency relief to those in need.
Anyone looking for a way to help those affected by Hurricane Matthew can make donations at any Atlanta area Publix store.
“As the grocer of choice in the communities we serve, we are trusted to react quickly and help those affected by tragic circumstances,” said Maria Brous, director of community relations with Publix. “This devastating disaster hits close to home as we have many associates and their families who have already been and still may be impacted.”
In an effort to jumpstart the Matthew relief efforts, Publix said it will be donating $1 million.
All of the donations collected at the stores will go to the American Red Cross relief efforts.
The Careforce partnership was created in 2000 as a way to better serve the community in times of need.
