LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - A Lawrenceville man won $750,000 after playing a Georgia lottery scratch-off ticket Tuesday.
According to a press release from Georgia Lottery, John Brannon, 36, won the price after playing the Silver Peach scratcher he bought at the Exxon Food Mart on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road.
Brannon had just gotten off work when he decided to stop and buy two tickets. He discovered his prize after scratching off the second Silver Peach ticket.
According to Georgia Lottery, Brannon says he will use a portion of his winnings to buy a new home.
Georgia Lottery officials awarded Brannon with a ceremonial check at the store Tuesday.
