2 dead, 1 injured in DeKalb County murder-suicide

Two people are dead and another injured after a murder-suicide in DeKalb County, according to police. 

Police say the triple shooting started over an augment about money at a home on Rock Shadow Court in Stone Mountain Friday night. Authorities responded to a call for of shots fired just before 10 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found two people--a 28-year-old male and a 35-year-old male--dead inside the home. Police say a third person--a 25-year-old male--was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the 28-year-old fatally shot the 35-year-old then shot himself. Police say the 25-year-old male was injured during the shootout. The identities of the males involved have not been released.

Police say they are investigating a motive but believe there was some sort of criminal activity going on inside the home.

"It appears there may have been illegal gambling going on," said DeKalb County Lieutenant Shane Stanfield.

The case remains under investigation.
