Two men have been arrested after authorities caught them with more than 500 pounds of marijuana worth roughly $1.2 million.

The Gwinnett Metro Task Force received word of a suspicious U-Haul truck in the area. Investigators spotted it near Cedars Road at Highway 16 around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and with the help of Lawrenceville Police they performed a traffic stop. That's when a police K-9 officer, trained to detect narcotics, indicated something was inside the vehicle.

Police arrested the driver, Mark Anthony Spaziano, 46, and the passenger, John Anthony Edney, 48, and charged them both with trafficking in marijuana.

The suspects were taken to the Gwinnett County Jail.
