LA GRANGE, Ga. - The hunt is on for a man accused of attacking another man with an ax on August 15th in Troup County.
Troup County Sheriff's Office tells FOX 5 they are looking for 31-year-old Cy Lamar Carson. Authorities say Carson and another man got into a verbal altercation that almost lead to the victim being killed.
Sergant Stewart Smith says the suspect hit the man multiple times with an ax before running him over. Then authorities say Carson fled the scene.
"If he can inflict these injuries on this person, it's quite obvious he could do it to someone else as well," Sergant Smith says.
The victim was taken to an Atlanta area hospital with life threatening injuries.
"I believe he's come out of this life threatening state. Hopefully he will make a recovery, " Smith says.
Carson is wanted for aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a motor vehicle and felony theft of a vehicle.
Authorities are asking anyone with any information on Carson's whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers at 706-812-1000 or to call the Troup County Sheriff's Office at 706-883-1616.
