The political rally shut down a portion of Midtown Atlanta for most of the day beginning at 9 a.m. including Peachtree Street and Ponce de Leon Avenue just outside.

Police very visible and security stepped up just days after America’s deadliest mass shooting.

And press from around the world set up to cover the rally.

Those attending the rally were told to allow for extra time to be screened as they headed inside the historic venue. Police said those attending would go through “what they would experience at the airport.”

According to the Trump campaign, people with general admission tickets were not be allowed to bring in homemade signs, banners, professional cameras with a detachable lens, tripods, monopods, selfie sticks, back packs or large bags.

Protesters started lining up early behind the barricades and across the street. By noon, when Trump arrived, some of the protesters became heated.

FOX 5 crews at the scene reported some being detained by officers.

Some entrepreneurs were out at the rally as well selling political wears.

And then it was over.
