Gatorland in Florida is loaning alligators to Harvey-ravaged Gator Country in Texas

- Gatorland Orlando is lending out a few good gators to Texas.

Gator Country Adventure Park in Beaumont lost about 50 alligators after the park was flooded out during Hurricane Harvey's 52 inches of rainfall.

"The whole time we're looking as a family and a business and asking how can we help the folks in Houston and Beaumont recover?" said Gatorland CEO and President Mark McHugh.

Gatorland, which has more than 2,500 gators and crocodiles in its park, will loan out 60 medium-sized gators for as long as Gator Country needs them.

"We're just trying to help them get back on their feet," says McHugh.

Now the real question, how will these Florida gators get along with their Texas counterparts?

"People keep asking me which one is the tougher one, says McHugh.  I'm a Texas boy, but I'm going to have to pull for the Florida gator on this one!"

The alligators leave Orlando on September 30 for their extended Texas vacation.
