COBB COUNTY, Ga. - World War II U.S. Army veteran Ralph G. Rumsey was awarded the Prisoner of War Medal in Atlanta on Friday.
U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson presented Rumsey, 96, with the medal, honoring his service in World War II.

While serving in the U.S. Army, Rumsey was captured in Germany and held a prisoner for nearly six months from April 15 to October 12, 1945, according to his official file at the U.S. National Archives.
