Walk Across America for veterans stops in Georgia

A group of six wounded veterans from the United States and the United Kingdom are walking a thousand miles across the United States. Wednesday, they stopped in metro Atlanta.

The Walk Across America is an effort to raise money and awareness about the mental health issues that affect many veterans.

The walk is tied to the UK based charity Walking with the Wounded, which counts Prince Harry as a patron.

Participants said the multi-national aspect of the group is something Prince Harry has emphasized.

As part of their walk through Georgia, the group visited the Atlanta Falcons training facility in Flowery Branch and Red Hare Brewing in Marietta.

They also met with employees at Delta Air Lines which is a sponsor of the walk and several Georgia-based veterans’ groups.

They'll head to South Georgia and Florida Thursday before traveling up the East Coast.
