ATLANTA - Some showers and thunderstorms are moving through north Georgia causing a soggy commute for some. The FOX 5 Storm Team is tracking a frontal system that will sweep scattered showers and storms through late Friday.
With otherwise variably cloudy skies, temperatures won't be as warm as recent days. High temperatures will warm into the upper 70s to low 80s.
Storms will be more widespread through the evening hours Friday night.
While the severe storm risk is not significant, we cannot rule out a storm or two becoming severe with wind/hail. You are advised to stay "weather aware." The FOX 5 Storm Team app will have all the information you need to dodge storms: the latest radar image, alerts when lightning is near your location, and any warnings - if they are issued.
Showers will linger into Saturday morning - with a clearing trend for the afternoon from the northwest. Many areas will enjoy a mostly sunny, dry, and mild afternoon Saturday. However, areas east and southeast of metro Atlanta may still experience some scattered showers into the afternoon.
Once all of this clears, Mother's Day on Sunday look sunny and dry for all of our area!
