COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Experts said one in four students has an undiagnosed vision problem.
So Georgia's Doctors of Optometry and VSP Vision Care spent the day giving free eye exams to elementary school students in Cobb County.
They said 80-percent of what kids learn in the classroom happens visually, so being able to see clearly is vital to academic success.
But beyond that, doctors said a child having poor vision could lead to other issues too.
Optometrists said about half of the students screened Monday needed glasses or an updated prescription which were provided as part of Monday's event.
