DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - A portion of DeKalb County saw some traffic trouble Monday afternoon after crews worked to repair a massive gas main break.
Residents along Sheridan Road near Chantilly Drive said DeKalb County Water crews who had been working in the area nicked the gas line causing the eruption.
Traffic was blocked off for several hours as Atlanta Gas Light worked to cap the leak and repair the line.
The smell of gas permeated the area as did the loud hissing noise from the leak.
Despite the traffic troubles, no evacuations were ordered in the area.
