"Choose peace instead of violence" is the challenge to the young people in metro Atlanta coming from the organization Be Someone, Inc.

The group has hosted camp sessions all summer long in Stone Mountain to teach young people life skills through the game of chess.

Organizer Orrin Hudson said he uses a chessboard to show kids how to outsmart competition, respect others, and think before making moves.

Hudson said the program has been in place for nearly 20 years and that he's taught about 50,000 students the message of "peace, positivity, and purpose."
