Star 94.1's Jenn Hobby: ‘Today the marathon begins'

Longtime Atlanta radio personality Jenn Hobby is thanking Atlanta for the “encouragement, kindness and prayers” after she shared the devastating news of 10-month-old’s diagnosis of cancer.

“Be brave, sweet Reese,” Hobby posted a heartfelt message to her public Facebook page on Tuesday. “We pray that this chemotherapy works hard at your cancer, yet spares your bright spirit.”

Hobby, a co-host on "The Jeff & Jenn Show" on Star 94.1, said her youngest daughter has been sick for several weeks and her family has been in and out of the emergency room.  Saturday morning, following an MRI of Reese's pelvic region, Hobby and her husband learned their “lil angel” had cancer.

“We pray it won't hurt and we pray you won't remember it, if it does,” Hobby continued in her post.

Hobby said she is turning to prayer and love during this difficult time. She expressed so much love from her little girl.

“We love you more than you know. We are here every step of the way. Love, Mommy and Daddy.”

Reese has a solid mass tumor near her tailbone, which is starting to affect her spine. Hobby said they felt comforted by the staff at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, but terrified by the reality of the circumstances.

“Today the marathon begins,” Hobby closed out her post which accompanies a photo of her little girl holding a doll and a sign which reads “Day 1.”
