Covington baby with new heart celebrates first Valentine's Day

COVINGTON, Ga. - A Covington baby, who received a new heart just before Christmas, celebrated his first Valentine's Day on Sunday and watch out ladies -- he's a tiny heartbreaker! 

Last year, Kaleb Waddleton's parents thought their son had a simple cold, but instead doctors diagnosed him with dilated cardiomyopathy. Simply put: he had weak heart muscle and the symptoms included coughing, dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite and bloating.

After spending months at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, baby Kaleb received a new heart in December. Last week, he turned 8-months-old.

"Thankful for our donor family for making another month possible," Kaleb's mother Marissa Waddleton said on Facebook last week.

His parents said their son has the best personality you'll ever meet. 

“He’s got the nurses in the palms of his hands," they told us a few months back.

Once you see baby Kaleb's Valentine's Day pictures, you'll quickly learn why the nurses love him so much. He's absolutely adorable! We're so glad to hear the tiny heartbreaker is doing well following his life-saving surgery. He's still using a feeding tube, but hopefully not for much longer. Last month, Marissa Waddleton said his echo looked so good they didn't need an x-ray.
