October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

To kick it off, Delta's Pink Plane carried more than 100 employees and eight customers on the 14th annual Breast Cancer One flight from Atlanta to Boston.

Everyone on board is either a breast cancer survivor or a current fighter.

Before the plane took off, there was a party at Atlanta’s airport.

Officials say it was a Delta employee who first pitched the idea of getting involved in breast cancer awareness.

The flight also kicks off Delta's month-long fundraising efforts to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Since 2005, officials with the airline say they've raised $14.6 million.
