HELEN, Ga. - There are always lots of big things happening in Georgia’s Alpine Village – Helen! But if you’re looking for a particularly high-flying thrill when you’re in town, there’s a place where “adventure” is right there on the sign out front!
We’re talking about Cool River Adventures, an aerial adventure destination from the people who brought you Helen’s long-running Cool River Tubing. Cool River Adventures features a zipline course, three aerial adventure courses, and a climbing wall. The zipline course includes four actual lines and a pair of bridges, and offers some stunning views while zipping right over the Chattahoochee River. The aerial adventure courses are divided into a “small” adventure for children, a “big” adventure for adults and kids weighing more than 70 pounds, and an “extreme” adventure for those seeking some real thrills.
Cool River Adventures is open seven days a week from Memorial Day to Labor Day, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. The address is 112 Poplar Stump Road in Helen, and reservations for the course may be booked online.
Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken is always on the hunt for an adventure, and he spent the morning in Helen doing a little climbing and ziplining...or at least watching others do it!
