Weekend festival celebrates 'The King'

Got the weekend blues?  Check out of that Heartbreak Hotel and get All Shook Up at a weekend festival celebrating The King of Rock and Roll.

The 14thBig E Fest and ETA Competition will take place Friday, August 4 and Saturday, August 5 on Main Street in Cornelia.  The event is a production of artist and Elvis enthusiast Joni Mabe (a.k.a Jobi Mabe…the Elvis Babe), owner and operator of the Loudermilk Board House Museum and Panoramic Encyclopedia of Every Elvis in Cornelia, which boasts an incredible collection of Elvis-inspired art and memorabilia including the infamous “Elvis wart.”  The weekend’s marquee event is the ETA Competition, starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Main Street Event Facility.  An ETA, by the way, is an Elvis Tribute Artist, and some of the best in the world are scheduled to compete on Saturday.  2016 champion Eric Schneider will perform Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Event Facility.
