Tennis center brings 60 courts to Rome

People in North Georgia looking for a place to play tennis don't just have one or two new options -- they've got 60!

The Rome Tennis Center at Berry College recently celebrated its grand opening, a year after breaking ground on the college-donated land.  The 30-acre site features 60 courts, including a half-dozen NCAA regulation courts, three center courts for collegiate and tournament play, and space for beginners and children.  Along with the courts, the Center boasts a nearly 4,000 square feet clubhouse with a large tennis porch to view ongoing matches.  Partners involved in the creation of the Rome Tennis Center include the Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce, and the Coosa Valley Tennis Association along with Berry College and the City of Rome.

Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken spent the morning at the new Rome Tennis Center, getting a tour of the facility and a tennis lesson, too!
