CHATTAHOOCHEE HILLS, Ga. - Serenbe Playhouse is one of the innovative and acclaimed theatre companies in the country, and Carousel is one of the most innovative and acclaimed musicals in history. So it only makes sense that the creative minds at Serenbe Playhouse chose the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic as their latest production.
Carousel opens at Serenbe Playhouse on March 24, and continues its run through April 10. Serenbe Playhouse has gained worldwide recognition for its unique site-specific productions, which means there is no physical “playhouse,” and productions are instead staged in various areas around the community. Carousel is being performed at The Inn Meadow at Serenbe, which director Brian Clowdus has turned into a full turn-of-the-century carnival. And in an exciting twist for regular theater-goers, the principle cast members are all returning after starting in the popular 2014 Serenbe Playhouse production of Oklahoma!.
Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning chatting with the cast and crew of Carousel, and going for a spin on the title attraction, too!
