Stars pack the schedule for new Sandy Springs entertainment venue

Tony-winning Broadway star Sutton Foster, Grammy-winning jazz legend Branford Marsalis, and Atlanta’s own Joe Gransden will be among the first to take the stage at a much-anticipated new entertainment venue in Sandy Springs.

The Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center at City Springs is finally raising the curtain on its inaugural season with a lineup of big events in August.  The new performing arts center includes the nearly 1,100 seat, three-level Byers Theatre along with the more intimate 350-seat Studio Theatre and the four-acre City Green, and all three spaces will feature an eclectic schedule of performances during the center’s opening celebration.

Big events include the Branford Marsalis Quartet, which will formally open the Byers Theatre on Saturday, August 11th, and Broadway’s Tony-winning Thoroughly Modern Millie, Sutton Foster, who will perform in the theatre on Saturday, August 18th. Food and drinks will be available during select shows at CityBar, which adjoins the Main Lobby and Studio Theatre.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken couldn’t wait to get inside the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center at City Springs, so he spent the morning getting an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour!
