Springs is busting out all over at Brookhaven's Cherry Blossom Festival

It's (finally!) officially Spring, and there's no better place to celebrate the most colorful season of the year than in Brookhaven this weekend.

The second annual Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival is taking place Saturday (from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.) at Blackburn Park, and admission both days is free.  Back in 2014, the city planted more than 200 cherry trees in the park, and now the festival celebrates the blossoming of those trees with two days of activities for families.  This year's event will feature an arts & crafts market, food trucks, and music.  Pet owners can take part in the Pet Parade and Costume Contest, happening Sunday at 2 p.m. (cost is ten bucks per pet), and there's a 5K Run/1K Walk happening Saturday at 7 a.m. (registration and fee required).
