HELEN, Ga. - They are some of the most legendary names in football, basketball, and Olympics history. Now, these athletes are hoping to prove their skills extend to the golf course during a special tournament happening in Helen.
The United Way of White County's Celebrity Golf Tournament returns to Helen's Innsbruck Golf Club on Tuesday, April 18th. The annual event is the largest fundraiser for the United Way of White County, and attracts big names from sports history for a day-long game of golf and some good-natured trash-talking, too! The event's host is former Atlanta Brave Darrel Chaney (who played for the Braves in the 1970s), and celebrities scheduled to attend this year include Olympic Swimming Gold Medalist Steve Lundquist and former Braves pitching coach Leo Mazzone. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., and the tournament begins an hour later.
Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken has made the trip to Innsbruck Golf Club the past few years to chat with the celebrities (and, of course, get that trash-talking started), and he spent the morning in Helen again with a preview of this year's big event!
