North Georgia family farm offers 'reindeer games'

Dasher, Prancer, and Vixen may spend most of the year at the North Pole, but that doesn’t mean little boys and girls can’t see actual reindeer right here in North Georgia.

Pettit Creek Farms in Cartersville is home to Comet and Cupid, a pair of reindeer which appear nightly at the farm’s Christmas Light Show.  This year’s light show opened on Thanksgiving and will run through December 30th, and visitors may either drive through the display for $15 per carload or take a hayride for $10 per person.  Pettit Creek Farms is located on 80 acres near Lake Allatoona, and has been operated by the Allen family since 1945.  The farm is now home to dozens of exotic animals including camels, zebra, and Padagonian cavy, along with more traditional farm stock including chickens, pigs, goats and sheep.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken wasn’t about to miss a chance to spend some time learning some real reindeer games, so he spent the morning at Pettit Creek Farms scoring an exclusive interview with Comet and Cupid!
