It's not a race week at Atlanta Motor Speedway, but that doesn't mean there won't be plenty of action on the track.
Thursday is a NASCAR open test session at Atlanta Motor Speedway. This means some of the sport's top drivers will be in Atlanta, helping test NASCAR's 2016 low-downforce aero package -- which will be on the track for the first time at AMS next year. Drivers tentatively scheduled to attend include Kurt Busch, Chase Elliott, and Joey Logano. And here's the best part -- "open" means the public can come watch...for free! The test will run for 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., and anyone who has already purchased tickets to the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 weekend will have access to a viewing area from the pit and garage area.
Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken spent the morning at Atlanta Motor Speedway getting a preview of this exciting day for fans.
