ATLANTA - There’s no place like home for the holidays – and this year, there’s also no place like home plate!
The Battery Atlanta throws out its first “holiday pitch” this Saturday, November 18th, with the debut of a seasonal ice skating rink, which will open at 11 a.m. daily through Sunday, January 14th (it will be closed on Christmas Day). Admission starts at $13 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under, and varies depending on the date. Meanwhile, The Battery Atlanta will hold a tree lighting ceremony on Friday, December 1st at 7 p.m. featuring Atlanta Braves players and the Jolly Old Elf himself, and immediately following the lighting of the tree, the Jim Carrey film How The Grinch Stole Christmas will screen for free at the Georgia Power Pavilion. Santa Claus will also make appearances throughout the season starting the day after Thanksgiving, and guests can get a free photo with him on the weekends by visiting the SunTrust OnUp Experience at The Battery Atlanta.
Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning at The Battery Atlanta, lacing up his skates and trying out a few axels at the brand-new rink!
