Nation's Top Wakeboarders Pack Lake Allatoona

ACWORTH, Ga. - It’s one of the most thrilling sports to watch, and this week, the best wakeboarders in the nation are set to make a major splash in North Georgia.

The Nautique WWA U.S. Wakeboard National Championships will take place July 27-30 on Lake Allatoona, serving as the opener of the sport’s 2016 season.  The four-day event features several categories, including Junior Boys and Girls, Amateur, Masters, and Veterans Men’s and Women’s divisions, as well as Adaptive Standing and Sitboarding.  Pro finals will take place on Saturday the 30th, followed by an awards ceremony.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning at Dallas Landing Park in Acworth, getting a preview of the competition and doing a little wakeboarding himself.
