Max recently spent the weekend with his foster, FOX 5 Digital Producer Katie Muse, and her 2-year-old niece, Savannah.

Max and Savannah instantly hit it off. The toddler spent the weekend loving on the future service dog, constantly giving him kisses on his head, belly-rubs and sweet pats on his back.

At one point, while Max was resting, Savannah decided to use the pup as a foot rest... which he didn't mind at all.

Max has been learning to stay focused in distracting situations and got some good practice in when he went to Sweet Apple Park in Roswell. Max stayed by his foster's side while Savannah enjoyed the playground.

Max was also able to practice being "gentle" when Savannah handed him a gold fish - one of his favorite snacks!

As the weekend came to an end, Max was exhausted from running around and playing with his new friend.
