Local Olympian serves up inspiration to young women

Back in 1988, she was the youngest member of the U.S. Olympic Volleyball Team. Now, nearly 30 years later, Keba Phipps is helping mold the future of the sport with her very own academy.

Keba Phipps Volleyball Academy (KPVA) is the newest venture for Keba Phipps, who competed internationally for several years and helped lead the US team to a 3rd place finish at the 2003 World Cup.

The Academy offers programs for beginners and intermediate players, as well as homeschool programs and camps during breaks in the school year.  Phipps says the Academy is way for her to help mentor the next generation of volleyball stars, as well as introduce young women to the sport she loves so much.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning at KPVA, talking with Keba Phipps about this new project (and learning a few moves, too!).
