Historic Atlanta home transforms for the holidays
ATLANTA - It was home to the family of Howard Candler from 1920 to 1959, which means the Candler family held many holiday celebrations there. Now, Callanwolde Fine Arts Center is a place for all people to celebrate this special time of year.
Christmas at Callanwolde officially launches at noon on Friday, November 24th with this year’s Designer Show House & Christmas Village, during which rooms in the historic mansion are decorated for the season by local designers. The 12-acre campus of the Fine Arts Center is also decorated with lights by Illuminating Design, and guests can visit a daily artists market in the Conservatory and enjoy live performances throughout the season. The Center will also hold a Callanwolde Holiday Gala on November 30th from 6 to 9 p.m., with live entertainment, food, and a silent auction.
Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, getting a sneak peek at this year’s Designer Show House and learning more about the holiday activities lined up for the rest of the season.
