1950s Memphis Comes To Life In Aurora Theatre Production:
There's plenty of jumping and jiving going on in Lawrenceville right now, thanks to the current Aurora Theatre production of the Broadway hit "Memphis."
"Memphis" features a score by Bon Jovi's David Bryan, and tells the story of an aspiring DJ loosely based on rock n' roll pioneer Dewey Phillips, who was one of the first white DJs to play R&B music in the 1950s.  In the musical, the DJ falls in love with an African-American singer, and together they help break down racial barriers in the deep south.  Along with the still-relevant story, the production features original, energetic music and plenty of amazing dancing, thanks to a case made up of 25 of Atlanta's best performers.
Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken spent the morning at Aurora Theatre, going behind-the-scenes of the Tony Award-winning Best Musical. For more information click here
