ATLANTA - Medieval Times Celebrates A Decade In Atlanta:
Atlanta’s own Medieval Times Castle is celebrating a major milestone this year – it’s been transporting crowds back to the 11th Century for a full decade now.
The popular dinner attraction combines a four-course meal with a live show featuring knights on horseback, swordfights, and jousting. The very first Medieval Times Castle opened in Florida back in 1983, and has since been joined by locations across North America, including the Atlanta Castle at Sugarloaf Mills in Lawrenceville. Along with the food, the atmosphere, and the athletic performers, a key ingredient to the success of Medieval Times are the horses. Two dozen horses are housed at the Atlanta Castle and trained to appear in the show. The horses are born on a ranch in Texas and brought to Georgia at the age of three, before receiving training from Master of Horses Felipe Ramirez.
Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning at the Medieval Times Atlanta Castle, and also took a trip to Ramirez’s ranch, where the horses get time to relax on their days off!
