Burgers With Buck:   So what is the Blended Burger Project?  (For the record, they had us at "Burger".)  It is a new initiative by the James Beard Foundation to promote great tasting, healthier burgers, and saving the planet one mouthwatering, delicious, blended burger at a time.

Call it a win-win-win, and let's face it...isn't that basically the #BurgersWithBuck agenda.

Anyway, the #BlendedBurgerProject is a competition for great chefs around the country.  The only rule is that the Blended Burger must contain at least 25% fresh and cultivated mushrooms into the burger patty.  Customers vote for the best Blended Burgers online and the top five chefs (with the most online votes) win a trip to the historic James Beard House in New York City where they will cook, said burger, for the annual JBF Food Conference.

Enter the Chubby.  It is Chef Aaron Avery of Establishment in Midtown's creation and entry into the competition.  It sounds great...a short rib and brisket grind topped with two fried buffalo shrimp and blue cheese mousse served on a pretzel bun, but it's the whole portobello mushrooms, smoked on the Big Green Egg, sliced thin and blended in between two patties that make it Blended Burger Project worthy.

Establishment is located at Colony Square in Midtown, and if you are interested in checking it out, the contest began on Memorial Day and will run through the month of July.
