Good Day Atlanta viewer information story August 25, 2017

Model Train Fans follow tracks to Infinite Energy Forum:   Duluth will come alive this weekend with the sound of tiny chugging train engines pulling into the Infinite Energy Forum, as the 54th Atlanta Model Train and Railroadiana Show and Sale arrives in town.

The show takes place Saturday, August 26 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Forum, located at 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.  The event draws model train dealers and enthusiasts from across the country, for a day of sales, demonstrations, and swapping layout ideas.  Along with model sets for sale and several running layouts to check out, the event also features dealers in “railroadiana,” which describes vintage railroad equipment and collectibles including lanterns, signage, calendars, and dining car china.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning at the Infinite Energy Forum, getting a preview of this weekend’s show.

Burgers With Buck Twisted Kitchen:  As #BurgersWithBuck nears the century mark, we go outside the box, or perhaps more appropriately…outside the bun.

Twisted Kitchen with locations in Midtown (near the Georgia Tech campus) and Marietta is to pasta what Moe’s or Willie’s is to Mexican fare.  You can go down the line and make it any way that you prefer.

There is no traditional burger on the menu, so why would #BWB feature a restaurant that is known for pasta?  Because sometimes you just have to mix things up a bit.

Admittedly, when the staff was first contacted about the Bacon Cheeseburger Pasta at Twisted Kitchen, discussions ensued.  But if there’s one thing you should have learned about the BWB Team through our first 98 editions, we are not scared to color outside the lines.

So let me tell you about the dish.  You choose your preferred pasta, among these options…Cavatappi, Penne, Linguini, Angel Hair, Tri-Color Rotini, Farfalle, Gluten-Free, or Rice Noodles.  OK, now here is where it gets interesting.  Add ground beef meatballs, tomatoes, red onions, cheddar cheese, bacon, and their signature cheese sauce, top it with potato sticks, and add a bread stick (which can serve as a bun if you like to make a sandwich, or a burger out of just about everything like BWB does), and you get the Bacon Cheeseburger Pasta.

You can also put all of those ingredients inside a wrap which give it at least the feel of burger that you eat with your hands rather than utensils.  The great news is if you’re a burger lover (like yours truly), and everyone else wants pasta for lunch, this might be a great option for you in a best of both worlds kind of way.
