ATLANTA - “Moonlight” Director, Cast Stop By Good Day Atlanta: When Oscar nominations come our early next year, there’s a strong chance “Moonlight” will be in the mix.
The new drama from A24 and Plan B Entertainment centers on a gay African-American man coming of age in the Miami projects. Based on a play by Tarell Alvin McCraney, the film was written and directed by Barry Jenkins and features three actors embodying the central character at various points in his life. Naomi Harris, known to many as Moneypenny in the recent James Bond films, is winning widespread acclaim as the man’s drug-addicted mother.
Jenkins, Harris, and actor Trevante Rhodes recently stopped by the FOX 5 Atlanta studios, and sat down with Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken to talk about making this intense and personal film.
