ATLANTA - Feeling the Halloween spirit at top seasonal store: Forget about Jack-o’-lanterns, changing leaves, and a chill in the air – the real sign that fall has finally arrived is the appearance of a Spirit Halloween store in a neighborhood near you.
For more than 30 years, Spirit Halloween has been a leader in Halloween costumes, accessories, décor, props, and more. Initially founded back in 1983, the company was purchased by Spencer’s in 1999 and now encompasses more than a thousand seasonal locations across the United States and Canada. This year, the spooky Spirit “guides” say popular costume options include looks from the Atlanta-filmed hit TV show “Stranger Things,” exclusive costumes from the much-loved Halloween film Hocus Pocus (with Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Nijimi as the Sanderson Sisters), and social-media inspired get-ups. Popular animatronics this year include a life-sized Pumpkin King from The Nightmare Before Christmas and the Towering Creepy Clown!
Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning at a local Spirit Halloween store, getting ready for his favorite day of the year by trying on some costumes and shopping for the scariest decorations around!
