Holidays get a historic touch at Locust Grove restaurant: A century ago, it was an All-American hardware store standing proudly on Main Street in Locust Grove. Today, the big brick building is still open for business, but what’s happening inside is a little more exotic!
Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning at The French Market and Tavern, a unique Locust Grove business that’s part-restaurant, part-coffee and cocktail bar, and part-boutique store specializing in handmade goods. Owners Mike and Meagan Buss took over the business early this year, moving from Pennsylvania down to Georgia to keep the historic building open and serving as a hub for the Henry County community. Along with serving regular lunch, brunch, and dinner, The French Market and Tavern will be serving from a special menu on Thanksgiving, with two seatings planned for the holiday (at 11:45 a.m. and 3:45 p.m.) and a full feast of ham, turkey, dressing, and more available for $39.95 for adults and $18.95 for children ages 12 and under. The restaurant will offer a similar buffet-style meal on Christmas Eve.
The French Market and Tavern is located at 3840 Highway 42 in Locust Grove. It’s open from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesdays through Thursdays, 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and for Sunday Brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For more information on The French Market and Tavern and its special holiday meals, click here.
