Legendary Lounge Offers 360-Degree City Views:   Feature reporter Paul Milliken has been scaling new heights all week on Good Day Atlanta, with segments focused on high-flying attractions around North Georgia.  And today, he’s at a place that’s been offering up the best views of Atlanta’s stunning skyline for decades.

Polaris is a rotating restaurant and lounge that sits on top of the Hyatt Regency Atlanta hotel.  The blue-domed space first opened back in 1967, sending diners 22 stories high in a glass elevator to rub elbows with some of the most important figures of the day.  After being closed for a decade, Polaris re-opened in 2014, and now serves up a menu of handcrafted cocktails and plates under the direction of Executive Chef Thomas McKeown.  Along with his work in the kitchen, McKeown is also beekeeper at the Polaris Bee Garden, with hives that house tens of thousands of honey bees.  The garden also produces herbs and vegetables used in dishes served at Polaris.

Paul spent the morning high above the city, learning more about the fascinating history and the exciting present and future of this Atlanta landmark.
