“Super” event makes its Mercedes-Benz Stadium debut: Just a week ago, the monster trucks of Monster Jam roared through Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the very first time. Now, its time for the two-wheeled machines to play in the dirt, as Monster Energy Supercross rolls in for its debut in the new venue.
The 2018 Monster Energy AMA Supercross FIM World Championship will take place Saturday, March 3rd at 6:30 p.m., bringing some of the best and most competitive motorcycle racers in the world to Atlanta. Doors are set to open at noon, with practice and qualifying also starting at noon and a Pit Party scheduled from noon to 6:00 p.m. Tickets for the event start at $20, with Pit Party Passes also costing $ 20. But how’s this for a deal? Fans can bring an empty can of Monster Energy for recycling at the entrance for free entry into the Pit Party.
Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning at Mercedes-Benz Stadium catching up with some of the biggest names in Supercross as they prepare for their first race in the brand-new stadium.
Burgers With Buck #117 Taco Cowboy: With a name like Taco Cowboy, a menu chocked full delicious taco, quesadilla, and other traditional (and not so traditional) Mexican fare is a given. In fact, if that is all they served at the Virginia Highland restaurant, it would likely be very successful, but boy oh boy are they so much more than that. Now add paella, fried chicken, salmon, mussels, ribs, and brisket and you understand why the concept can’t be put in a box.
They describe themselves as Texican, and with all that variety in a restaurant owned by Certified Master Chef Tom Catherall, who knows a thing or two about running successful restaurants in Atlanta, it’s got to be great, right?
Now I know what you’re thinking. This is still #BurgersWithBuck, right? Have you guys gone all PC on us or something?
We need to talk. Shhh. Look both ways to make sure no one is peeking over your shoulder as we let you in on a little behind the scenes information. You can get a wonderful burger at Taco Cowboy, but you won’t find it on the menu. This is our little secret, #BWB family.
We had the Brisket Chili Burger (which we are lobbying to be renamed Buck’s Brisket Chili Burger), and boy are we glad we did. We’re talking about grass fed, locally grown beef, fresh buns from Buckhead Bread Company, and a generous serving of brisket chili smoked by Pit Master Scott Switzer.
Somehow, some way we didn’t ruin our second consecutive dress shirt, but it would have been totally worth it if we did.
