Kyanna Simone Simpson has had a passion for acting from a young age and even went as far as performing a monologue for actor Tony Vaughn from Tylery Perry's Meet The Brown's in a grocery store parking lot at the age of 13 . Simpson, stopped by Good Day Atlanta today to discuss her most recent role in The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks on HBO. In the film she portrays a younger version of Oprah Winfrey's character in the movie Deborah Lacks. Simpson says this is a lifetime dream for her as she has always been compared to Oprah. The Y branch is hosting a clay shooting competition on Friday, May 5 at Garland Mountain Sporting Clays in Waleska. Garland Mountain is a shotgun-only establishment open to the public, which offers both recreational and competitive clay shooting. The Ed Isakson/Alpharetta Family YMCA competition will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, with an included lunch and awards ceremony to honor the day’s best marks. All proceeds from the competition will benefit the Y Afterschool program, which focuses on success in both academics and physical fitness for youth and teens.
Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken decided to try his hand at some clay shooting, and spent the morning at Garland Mountain learning more about the upcoming competition.
