Local French Bakery Proves Itself "King" Of Mardi Gras:  When it comes to Mardi Gras celebrations, there is only one King.  We're talking about the King's cake, of course, and there are plenty being baked right now at one of North Georgia's top French bakeries.

Douceur de France was created by Chef Luc Beaudet in early 2000, with the intention of bringing made-from-scratch French pastries to the Atlanta-area.  The name itself means "sweets of France," something the chef knows about after enrolling in "Les Compagnons du Devoir du Tour de France" -- which is an organization that tours France and Europe, learning the pastry techniques of each individual region.  Now with two locations (Marietta and Roswell), the bakery and cafe is especially busy with the approach of Mardi Gras.  King's cakes are a tradition of Mardi Gras celebrations, and comes from the French tradition of baking a cake to honor the 3 Kings.

Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken spent the morning at Douceur de France getting a lesson in how to make King's cake -- and how to enjoy it, too!
