ATLANTA - Annual Event Covers 3 Cs: Classes, Competition, Chocolate: Satisfying your sweet tooth has never been easier, thanks to an annual event featuring some of the top pastry chefs in the world.
Pastry Live is a three-day event taking place August 20-22 at 200 Peachtree in Atlanta. The event is organized for pastry chefs, by pastry chefs, with a schedule featuring seminars and workshops as well as world-class competitions. Competition categories include "The Art of Cake," "Chocolatier of the Year," and "Signature Plated Dessert" as well as a Student Chocolate Challenge.
Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken isn't much of a chef -- but he's great at taste-testing! So he spent the morning getting a preview of this year's event.

Burgers With Buck at Mason Tavern: Happy anniversary to Mason Tavern! The classic tavern in North Decatur named for nearby Mason Mill Park, celebrated one year in business this month.
It is a cool place that is quickly becoming known for not only it's menu, but also it's selection of locally crafted beers. Now while all of that sounds wonderful, it was the Tavern Burger that caught the attention of the #BurgersWithBuck staff.
It is the classic less is more concept that begins with a quality patty that is a house made 70-15-15 blend of ground chuck, short rib, and brisket. It comes with American cheese, Russian dressing, lettuce, and spicy B&B pickles all served on a buttered bun. The ingredients don't cover up the taste of the quality patty, but rather compliment it. However, there is an option to add fried egg, avocado, or bacon, but it's not necessary. The only upgrade that #BWB may consider next time is making it a double.
It is one of those burgers that accomplishes it's mission of bringing back memories. It tastes familiar, from the very first bite.
As if you need any more incentive to give it a try, ask about their lunch special when you're there.
One more thing, their patio is dog friendly.
