Focus on one at a time

If you have more than one savings or debt-reduction goal, take them one step at a time to help you stay motivated!

When your money is being spread thin, it’s hard to reach any of your goals.

Prioritize your financial goals and decide which to focus on first

Suggested order: paying off debt, building an emergency fund of 3-6 months, saving for retirement

Save $10 a day

Small savings can make a big impact.

Realizing a $10 lunch or $30 shirt can make a difference will make the sacrifice easier.

Ex: If you were to save $10 a day, that would be $3,650 a year towards retirement goals!

If you’re married, agree with your spouse on your goals

It’s easier to accomplish your goals when both parties are involved.

Have a date night where you and your spouse decide together what your goals are and what your future looks like.

Hold each other accountable, without being accusatory!

Consider extreme money moves

If you have big financial goals or need to catch up on retirement, you may want to consider some more drastic money moves.

Look at picking up an extra job, selling a car, downsizing your home or living on one spouses’ income.

This is a temporary sacrifice for a long-term gain!

Prepare To "Sail Away" At The 54th Annual Atlanta Boat Show: Baby, it's cold outside -- but you'll be dreaming of a hot summer inside the Georgia World Congress Center this weekend.

The 2016 Progressive Insurance Atlanta Boat Show sets sail this year from January 14th through the 17th, returning for a 54th year.  The show brings in hundreds of ready-to-purchase boats, ranging from jet skis to pontoons to luxury yachts.  Along with shopping, visitors can check out the Let's Go Fishing Center (with workshops by fishing pros), boating safety seminars, and try out boating and sailing simulators.  There's also a Kids Zone this year, and admission to youth 15 and under is free.

Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken always like to dream of sailing around the world in his own yacht -- and stopped by the Atlanta Boat Show to try a few on for size! www.AtlantaBoatShow.com

30A SONGWRITERS FESTIVAL: Even during the winter, Florida's Gulf Coast is a popular spot for Atlantans.  One of the reasons is the 30A Songwriters Festival set to take place Friday, January 15th through Sunday, January 17th.  The event takes place along Highway 30A, the state route that leads to one of the best getaway locations on the Emerald Coast in Northwest Florida.  Emcee Mara Davis and musician Eliott Bronson joined us to talk about the music filled event.  For more information click here.
