German Christkindl Market returns to Atlantic Station

It’s a centuries-old tradition in Germany that brightened the holidays at Atlanta’s Atlantic Station last year.  Now, the German Christkindl Market is back, offering authentic, handmade goods that are delicious both to the eye – and the taste buds!

The 2nd annual German Christkindl Market is presented by the German American Cultural Foundation, and runs through December 23rd at Atlantic Station’s Central Park.  The open-air market is inspired by the iconic holiday villages of Europe, and features dozens of vendors selling handmade German holiday décor and treats.  Along with the Christkindl Market, Atlantic Station is celebrating the holiday season with Skate the Station (an ice skating rink), nightly “snow shows” during which it snows on the streets of Atlantic Station, and Santa’s Cottage, in which visitors can get a photograph with the Jolly Old Elf himself!

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken grabbed a cup of mulled wine and spent the morning at Atlantic Station, doing a little shopping at the Christkindl Market and sampling some of the German treats.
