Dance studio 'breaks' down classic hip-hop style

- They call themselves b-boys and b-girls, and they’re carrying on a decades-old tradition right now in metro Atlanta.  And if you want to truly be amazed at what the human body can do, then just check out the incredible instructors and students at Rockwell Dance Academy.

Rockwell Dance Academy in Acworth specializes in teaching hip-hop and breakdancing, particularly preserving the breakdance style as it originated in the streets of New York in the 1970s.  Someone who knows all about the “good old days” of breakdancing is Honey Rockwell, who was born and raised in the South Bronx and made the leap from gymnastics to b-girling in the mid-1990s.  After performing around the world, Rockwell settled here in Metro Atlanta and opened Rockwell Dance Academy, which offers dance classes year-round to students of all ages, along with camps and workshops.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken (a.k.a. P-Fox)  is never afraid of dancing on live television and decided it was time to learn a few new moves.  So he spent the morning at Rockwell Dance Academy, learning from Honey Rockwell and her talented young b-boys and b-girls.
