Burgers with Buck: Piastra

It’s #BurgersWithBuck, with a bit of an Italian flare.  Not really, but we are featuring a restaurant known for great Italian food, Piastra on the Marietta Square.  So why would #BWB feature an Italian restaurant?  For the turkey burger, of course.

Okay, it doesn’t actually have to make sense as long as it is good, right?  Stay with me here, and we will make sense of it all together.

Much like many ethnic restaurants, Piastra knows that due to the popularity of burgers, it is wise to offer at least one on the menu.  Their Burger Italiano is a popular option, but 12 times a year, Chef/Co-owner Greg Lipman features a burger of the month.  For the month of November he has created what has been named the PM Turkey Burger.  It is named for one of the biggest turkeys I have ever met.  More on that shortly.

The PM Turkey Burger begins with a blend of turkey breast and chicken thigh that is hand ground and seasoned.  It is topped with taleggio cheese, arugula, blackberry Calabrese chili glaze, and don’t even get me started on the bun. Two words… #White. #Chocolate. Now you want to click that link, don’t you?

Okay, back to the name. As you well know, Paul Milliken is very jealous of #BWB.  Case in point, a recent attempt on Good Day Atlanta to name a segment #PattiesWithPaul. At #BurgersWIthBuck, we know that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.  Thank you Paul.  So in a gesture of thanks, we collaborated the good folks at Piastra to make PM’s dream come true.  That dream of course is to finally have a burger named for him.  Congratulations Paul!  You officially put the turkey in the PM Turkey Burger.

And, as always, if you have a favorite burger that you would like to see featured on, tell me about it on https://www.facebook.com/BuckFOX5 or https://twitter.com/BuckFOX5, and don't forget to use the hashtag #BurgersWithBuck and/or #BWB.
