Burgers with Buck: OTP Tap and Grill

Image 1 of 4

Full disclosure, when the staff at #BurgersWithBuck heard the name OTP Tap & Grill, we were instantly intrigued.  The question...could the burgers at OTP live up to the restaurant's clever name?

First things first...for those readers who, "ain't from around here", OTP stands for Outside the Perimeter.  The Perimeter (I-285) is just that, a 64 mile perimeter highway that circles the city of Atlanta.  Locals refer to anything inside the circle as ITP (Inside the Perimeter), and anything outside the circle as, you guessed it, OTP.

So this week, #BWB ventured from #ITP to #OTP to check it our for ourselves.

The OTP Tap & Grill serves classic American cuisine, but in their 18 months of existence, they are becoming more and more well known for their specialty burgers.  All of the burgers are made from a blend of 50% chopped chuck and 50% short rib, and served on a fresh delivered Holeman & Finch bun.

The Classic OTP Burger is a basic choice served with American cheese, bacon and their signature OTP Sauce (The "secret" sauce is a mayonnaise based sauce with a little bit of soy sauce and a little bit of Worcestershire sauce).

And then there's Da' Cowboy.  The same patty and bun complete with cheddar cheese, bacon, jalapenos, lettuce, tomato, and pickles...and topped with a large onion ring with the middle filled with braised chicken.  This is the selection that earned the coveted #BWB Thumbs Up!

The folks at OTP Tap & Grill aim to prove that you can get just as good a burger OTP as anywhere ITP.
