Girl Collects Gifts, Supplies for Needy Children this Christmas

A 9-year-old girl from Alabama has already done more to help others than most adults ever will. Thanks to Jordyn McNeal, more than 1,600 in-need children around the world will receive gifts this Christmas through Samaritan's Purse and Operation Christmas Child.

Jordyn stopped by Good Day Atlanta Monday morning. She traveled to Atlanta to drop off 1,637 shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies and hygiene items. Her gifts will join more than 1.5 million shoeboxes that will be sent out around the world. Operation Christmas Child will deliver the shoeboxes to children overseas using whatever means necessary, such as boats, airplanes trains... and even elephants!

In 2012, Jordyn collected 30,000 items and packed 1,002 gift-filled shoeboxes for the wonderful cause. This year, she wanted to do something bigger.
